Our work – Kidshelp Kambodscha e.V.

As a charity organization that is helping the development of Cambodia we are registered as an international NGO with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cambodia. As our main projects try to help improving the education sector, we also have a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Education.

Our project areas

Kidshelp projects operate in four areas:

Prek Dambang Commune, Mukh Kampul District, Kandal Province is our primary area, 35 km north of Phnom Penh. Our English school there offers 420+ children English lessons 5 days a week, plus IT and life skill courses. Most of our sponsored schoolchildren live in the area. Kidshelp also supports the village community through its relationship with Khmer Sight Foundation for sight testing and providing information about dental care and general healthcare
Roka Kaong 2 Commune, Mukh Kampul District, Kandal Province is where a second English school is under development, planned to open in 2021. We purchased the land in 2019 (about 5 km north of our current English school) and are currently in the first construction phase. If you want to support the project with donations, you can do so here or transfer the money directly to our donation account.
Prek Tamak where our initial projects started is about 10 km south of Prek Dambang. We support 250+ sponsored children across Prek Tamak and Prek Dambang
Phnom Penh is where we operate dormitories for university students. A major part of our work is based around sponsorship and support of 50+ university students.

Key principles of our projects in Cambodia

In cooperation with Cambodian officials and our local staff we help to improve the education system of Cambodia and make sure that more people get access to good education. It is important for us that we act primarily as facilitators and in advisory capacity. In all our projects we try to find solution approaches together with our local staff. We believe that dependence from foreign support should be held as low as possible. Our long term goal is the takeover by Cambodians.

As a small NGO it is important for us to stay in close contact with our members and supporters. This includes that our sponsors, members and everyone else who is interested in our work can always find the latest information about our projects. Transparency is of paramount importance for us. In our download area, you can also find our quarterly reports to get a full insight into all our expenses in Cambodia.

Kidshelp Kambodscha e.V. depends entirely on individual donations. Only because a lot of our work is done voluntarily and without payment we are able to run all our different projects. Therefore you can be sure, that your help really reaches the place where it is needed.
